GIFTS WITH HEART PATCH

Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council collected over 500

children's books at CandyLand themed carousel camp

in Willis, Texas.

Troop 15199, 10062, 15046 organized and lead over

200 girl scouts on a CandyLand adventure as they

went from one sweet place to another through the

woods.  The donation portion for the Gifts with Heart

Patch was completed at Grandma Nut's house where

a story was read to the girls and then donated books

were dropped off by each troop attending the activity. 

A few weeks later, several of the girl scouts from

the Carousel camp committee met at Ben Taub to

officially donate the books to their children's library

on behalf of Gifts with Heart.  Ben Taub's children's

book program, BOOKS, tries to send home a book

with every child who comes to the hospital whether

they are there for treatment themselves or there

because of a family member's illness. The Ben

Taub children's book program hands out

approximately 3,000 books per month!
